We Can Do This Together.

We know that while the Coronavirus itself does not specifically target black communities, systemic issues like food deserts, barriers to health care, and service sectors that leave workers without adequate protections have exacerbated the effects of the virus within our communities of color. However, #WeGotUs. Across the country, grassroots organizations and groups are creating mutual aid funds. Underserved communities and folks who care for these communities are putting their resources together and surviving. In the midst of systemic violence, communities are finding ways to take care of themselves.

We’re following their lead. ImagiNoir/BLMHTX has established the HTX Mutual Aid Coalition to provide monetary items and support to those impacted by this pandemic. Donations received will be distributed to vulnerable communities in the city and surrounding areas. Donations are tax-deductible and a record of accounting will be provided to all who donate. The devastation to our families and uncertainty can seem overwhelming. But we are survivors and we got us. Join us.

How We Serve

Rental Assistance

Financial Assistance

Basic Needs

Safety Kits

*Services provided based on need, location, and available resources. All resources will be distributed equitably.

Our Priorities

Provide Direct Assistance to Black + Brown Communities

Many folks within our communities were earning less than they deserved prior to the pandemic. This disparity in income, coupled with the stalled economy, has exacerbated the needs of our people. Your generous donations will allow for equitable distribution of resources towards: rental assistance, financial assistance, basic needs, and safety kits.

Freeing our Brothers and Sisters from the Prison Industrial Complex

In Harris County Jail System a number of our sisters and brothers have tested positive for CoVID 19. Most of them have never been convicted of a crime and are being subjected to incarceration due to financial hardship. This injustice shouldn’t exist. Your contribution will be used to bail our people out of jail, to provide temporary housing for the recently released as they abide by the 14-day CDC quarantine directive, and to supply them with needed safety kits and resources (masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectants, basic needs, and transportation).
